We achieved CMMI Level 3

This year (2022) MSBC Group successfully complete the CMMI audit and received CMMI Level 3 (V2.0). An appraisal at maturity level 3 2.0 indicates that MSBC are performing at a "defined" level. At this level, the processes are well characterized, understood and practiced through the standards, procedures, tools, and methods.

"We are very excited to announce that we have achieved CMMI level 3! This is a testament to all the hard work that our staff has put in as they continue to make MSBC Group an excellent company to work for and work with. We're proud of each and every one of our member’s efforts and we hope this motivates us to achieve more", Rishan Gopal 2022 -MSBC Group

So what exactly is CMMI? It is a process level improvement training and appraisal program. The Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is an integrated set of best practices, which enable businesses to improve performance of the key business processes.

CMMI has been designed to be understandable, accessible and flexible to a broad variety of businesses and types of work. It facilitates faster, easier and successful improvement to address:

• Industry-specific needs

• Increasing performance

• Multiple types of organizations or projects

• Market drivers

• The benefits of CMMI improve time-to-market

• Increase quality of solutions

• Enhanced cost control

• Improve product lifecycle management

• Gain organizational agility

• More timely delivery

• Fewer last minute crunches

• Reduce customer complaints

• Reduce rework

The CMMI is an ongoing improvement process that helps organizations be more successful by assessing their current performance and then identifying areas for improvement. It's a process that provides "best practices" for the planning, implementation and improvement of the software development process.

CMMI has gone through various versions by the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute, an organization dedicated to software engineering research and development. The advancement of CMMI is motivated by new ideas on how to organize and improve software development organizations. A big part of this is that it includes maturity models: when organizations use a maturity model they can improve their current state.

This way they can show how they have increased their internal processes as well as how they are adapting to the needs of their customers and business.

Another reason that CMMI is important is that it can help organizations improve their software development processes. Companies like IBM, Google and Microsoft use CMMI to improve their software development processes.

The appraisal process consists of gap analysis, which is used to determine the improvement strategy along with implementation reviews – which focus’ on the evaluation process implementation in addition to checkpoint reviews to review the overall implementation status and to determine the readiness of organization towards a benchmark appraisal.
